National Grid ESO is now accepting bids for the UK's Allocation Round 6 (AR6) auction, inviting renewable energy developers to submit sealed bids until August 9, 2024.
The auction includes over 10GW of offshore wind capacity eligible for Pot 3, which recently received a £300 million top-up, increasing the total budget to £1.1 billion. Onshore wind and solar projects will compete in Pot 1, with a combined budget of £185 million.
Expected outcomes from the auction include the allocation of around 2GW to 3GW of new capacity across both onshore wind and solar technologies.
The winners of the AR6 auction are anticipated to be announced in early September.
