Rovco and Vaarst to Expand Workforce, Pioneering High-Tech Solutions for Offshore Wind

and its sister company Vaarst have announced ambitious plans to bolster their workforce by over 150 specialist roles across key locations in the by the close of 2025.

Emphasizing the pivotal role of talent influx in propelling growth and fostering innovation, both companies underscored their commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technologies like AI, automation, and machine learning. These technologies are poised to revolutionize the green subsea industry, facilitating a swift energy transition and bolstering the competitiveness of wind energy.

Brian Allen, Chief Executive of Rovco & Vaarst, articulated the significance of technology in reshaping the offshore wind landscape, stating, “High-tech solutions will both support existing jobs in the sector and create new ones, all while reducing operational timelines and costs.”

Of the 150 specialized positions, 50 will be allocated to Vaarst, focusing on its burgeoning endeavors initiated since its establishment in 2021. The remaining roles will be distributed across Rovco's operations, with its Bristol headquarters serving as a hub for pioneering developments in machine learning, computer vision autonomy, data, AI, and robotics software engineering.

The Scottish landscape will witness a significant surge in employment opportunities, with over 100 roles slated for Rovco's hydrographic division. These roles will encompass crucial functions spanning wind farm planning surveys, seabed mapping, and UXO surveys, thereby fortifying the company's foothold in Scotland's burgeoning energy sector.

Predominantly onshore positions, concentrated in Aberdeen, will cater to mid-senior level professionals, with additional opportunities available at the company's office. The recruitment drive is poised to not only augment Rovco and Vaarst's operational capabilities but also bolster their global footprint, with expansion plans extending to regions like the United States and .

The companies have already initiated their expansion trajectory, having filled nearly 30 roles in Bristol and Aberdeen earlier this year. By the conclusion of 2025, they aim to have bolstered their global workforce by approximately 200 positions, further cementing their position as frontrunners in the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions.
