Aquila Clean Energy has expanded its order with Nordex, adding 24 turbines to its initial purchase for the Baza wind farm cluster in Granada, Spain. The new order, comprising N163/5.X machines with a total capacity of 141.6MW, supplements the 21 units with a combined output of 124MW ordered in June 2024.
This second order also includes a Premium Service contract with a 20-year term. The Nordex Group will begin installing the Delta4000 series turbines on 108-meter-high tubular steel towers starting in 2025. The Baza cluster will ultimately consist of 45 N163/5.X models, totaling over 265MW, following the planned commissioning in 2026.

The option for Aquila Clean Energy to expand the total number of machines in the Baza cluster by up to 24 additional units was included in the initial agreement made in June 2024. This option was set to be exercised by 31 August 2024.
“We are pleased that Aquila Clean Energy has fully exercised the additional option for the construction of the Baza wind farm cluster and has ordered a further 24 turbines from Nordex,” said Patxi Landa, chief sales officer at Nordex. “This is a great incentive for us to successfully implement this extensive project in the interests of our regular customer, and to fulfil the trust placed in us.”
