Brazilian companies A2 Empreendimentos and Solarmine are set to develop 11 solar parks in the state of Minas Gerais, with a total capacity of 38.5 megawatts (MW), according to a local government announcement on Thursday.
The initiative, named Projeto Triangulo, involves an investment of BRL 140 million (USD 25.4 million/EUR 23.3 million). Each solar park will have an individual capacity of 3.5 MW and will be distributed across various municipalities.
Once operational, the solar parks are expected to generate enough clean electricity to power approximately 38,000 local homes.
The projects in Prata, Ituiutaba, Capinopolis, and Paracatu are slated for completion by December 2024. The facilities in Uberaba and Conceicao das Alagoas are projected to be finished by July 2025 and July 2026, respectively.
