Neoenergia Signs Agreement to Deploy Solar Projects for Brazilian Armed Forces

SA, a Brazilian utility company, has entered into a significant agreement with the Ministry of Defense to implement over 2.1 MWp of farms and upgrade lighting systems in military facilities.

The initiative, valued at BRL 8.8 million (USD 1.6m/EUR 1.4m), will involve the construction of ten solar parks and the replacement of 3,600 inefficient lamps with energy-efficient LED models.

These projects will span installations in the Federal District, , Pernambuco, , and Sao Paulo, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing operational costs for the Army, Navy, and Aeronautical buildings.

Neoenergia anticipates completing the entire operation by year-end, expecting annual savings of BRL 2.1 million for the Armed Forces.

The collaboration underscores Neoenergia's longstanding commitment to energy efficiency partnerships with the Brazilian Armed Forces, spanning more than a decade.
