Emeren, a US-based solar developer-operator, announced today the sale of a portfolio of ready-to-build solar projects in Spain to a local unit of French renewable energy company CVE.
The portfolio, totaling 42 MWp in capacity, comprises eight greenfield projects ranging from 5 MW to 6 MW each, initiated by Emeren in 2021.
Six of these projects are located in Castilla-y-Leon, with the remaining two situated in Comunidad Valenciana and Andalucia.
Once operational, these sites are projected to generate approximately 93,800 MWh of clean electricity annually, meeting the energy needs of approximately 28,360 local homes.
“This transaction accelerates our development as it will allow us to triple our installed capacity to 65 MWp by late 2025 in Spain, an active market aligned with our strategic goals of producing distributed solar energy and selling it through PPAs,” stated Pierre de Froidefond, managing partner at CVE.
