Supply & Trading, the trading unit of German power major RWE AG, has initiated a to purchase up to 3 terawatt-hours (TWh) of green electricity to fulfill increasing demand for short-term supply contracts from corporate customers.

The tender, running until August 16, targets operators of wind and solar parks that no longer receive subsidies under 's EEG scheme, RWE stated on Monday.

Electricity producers interested in participating can directly contact RWE, with submitted offers evaluated based on provided data. Acceptable price proposals will result in direct purchases by RWE to meet customer needs through short-term supply contracts.

Delivery of the green electricity is slated for 2025 and 2026, with participating power plants required to have a minimum capacity of 5 megawatts (MW) or an annual production of 12 gigawatt-hours (GWh).

RWE highlighted that the tender underscores robust demand for power purchase agreements (PPAs), driven primarily by large corporations increasingly aiming to satisfy their electricity requirements with clean energy sources.
