Danish environmental and waste treatment firm Marius Pedersen A/S has entered into a significant power purchase agreement (PPA) with Better Energy for electricity from the upcoming Fraugde solar photovoltaic (PV) park on Funen island.
Under the terms of the 10-year agreement, Marius Pedersen will procure green energy directly from Better Energy's renewable infrastructure.
“The PPA with Better Energy's Fraugde solar farm aligns with our commitment to sustainable energy practices,” stated a spokesperson from Marius Pedersen A/S. “This partnership will supply our facilities on Funen with clean electricity sourced locally.”
Located in the municipality of Odense, the Fraugde PV park spans 74 hectares and is scheduled to be grid-connected by the end of 2024.
Once operational, the facility is projected to generate approximately 81 GWh annually, enough to meet the energy needs of about 51,000 Danes, equivalent to nearly 30% of Odense's population of 180,000 residents.
Better Energy, responsible for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the solar park, has previously secured long-term power agreements with major entities like Semler Gruppen, Denmark's top car importer, and Carlsberg brewery.
