Tesvolt GmbH, a German manufacturer of battery storage systems, has announced its selection to deploy a 65-megawatt hour (MWh) battery energy storage system (BESS) in Rhineland-Palatinate, southwest Germany.
The project, slated for construction in Worms, represents a significant milestone as the largest order in Tesvolt's history. The company will oversee development, supply, installation, and ongoing service and maintenance, according to a statement.
The BESS initiative is a collaborative effort involving local energy supplier EWR AG, solar and storage project developer W Power, and construction project developer Timbra. Together, they have established Batteriespeicher-Park Worms GmbH (BPW) to manage the operation of the storage park.
Tesvolt's technology incorporates lithium NCA cells sourced from Samsung SDI. The company is concurrently commissioning additional energy storage sites across Germany and Sweden, collectively contributing over 40 MWh of capacity.
