Vestas Secures Major Wind Turbine Order for Pencloe Project in Scotland

has clinched a significant contract from Invenergy to supply wind turbines for the Pencloe Wind Energy Centre in Dumfries and Galloway, . The 81MW order underscores Vestas' role in advancing renewable energy solutions in the UK market.

Under the agreement, Vestas will provide 18 V136-4.5MW turbines for the project, handling the entire scope from supply and delivery to installation and commissioning. The contract also includes a multi-year Active Output 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement aimed at optimizing the turbines' performance post-commissioning.

We look forward to delivering on our strong construction track record and thank Invenergy for entrusting Vestas with their largest wind park project in the UK.”

The Pencloe Wind Energy Centre represents a significant endeavor for Invenergy, serving as their largest development project in the United Kingdom. Stuart Winter, Vice President and Country Manager at Invenergy, emphasized the project's alignment with their mission to advance cleaner, more reliable, and affordable energy solutions while fostering positive community relationships and enhancing local economies.

“We are excited to utilize state-of-the-art Vestas' turbines at the Pencloe Wind Energy Centre,” Winter noted. “This project underscores our commitment to accelerating the transition to sustainable energy sources.”

Turbine delivery is slated to commence in the second quarter of 2025, with full operational readiness expected by early 2026.
