In a significant stride towards renewable energy expansion, DEME Group's offshore installation vessel, Apollo, has commenced operations at the 496MW Dieppe le Tréport offshore wind farm in France. The vessel's crew and project team are actively preparing for the installation of the first of 62 jacket foundations, marking a pivotal phase in the project's development.
According to DEME, the scope of work includes transporting and installing pin piles and jackets to support 62 wind turbines, as well as handling the offshore substation's topside installation.
In addition, DEME will undertake the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) contract for approximately 120 km of inter-array cables, essential for connecting the wind turbines.
“This project represents another milestone in our commitment to advancing offshore wind solutions,” said a spokesperson from DEME.
The Dieppe le Tréport offshore wind farm, developed by Les Éoliennes en Mer Services and owned by OW Ocean Winds, Sumitomo Corporation, and Banque des Territoires, is poised to provide renewable energy to nearly 850,000 people. DEME's involvement underscores its leadership in executing complex offshore projects, building on its successes at Saint-Nazaire and the Iles d'Yeu and Noirmoutier offshore wind farms.
