2H, a leader in offshore engineering solutions, has been awarded a prestigious four-year integrity management (IM) contract for the Moray West offshore wind farm located in the North Sea off Scotland.
The contract entails comprehensive IM oversight for all balance of plant (BoP) equipment at the wind farm, encompassing crucial components such as monopiles, turbine towers, inter-array and export cables, as well as offshore and onshore substations.
Ricky Thethi, Global Director at 2H, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are excited to partner with the Moray West operations and maintenance (O&M) team to implement an IM programme for their BoP equipment.”
Developed by Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie, Moray West is set to become a cornerstone of offshore wind energy generation in Scotland. The project's O&M manager, Jamie Dempster, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership with 2H, emphasizing their Scottish-based expertise and extensive industry experience.
2H's role will include the development and execution of integrity plans using Clarus, its proprietary digital IM software iCUE, aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and maintaining asset condition. Vekta Group, based in Edinburgh, will contribute specialized expertise in BoP electrical and high-voltage equipment.
“We believe that all stakeholders will greatly benefit from our structured, risk-based approach to IM, gaining better visibility of key risks and the ability to address integrity issues during operations,” Thethi added.
