Verbund Green Power Expands Renewable Footprint with 50MW Solar Plant in Spain

Verbund Green Power, the Spanish arm of the Austrian utility company, has taken a significant step in its commitment to by commissioning a new 50MW plant in Manzanares, located in 's Ciudad Real province.

Named the , this solar facility sprawls over 99 hectares and boasts 76,632 high-efficiency solar panels, symbolizing Verbund Green Power's dedication to sustainable energy practices.

The construction of the Calatrava 2 solar plant was executed by Lantania, a renowned construction firm known for its expertise in delivering large-scale energy projects. This new addition elevates Verbund Green Energy's operational renewable energy capacity in Spain to an impressive 680MW, with 380MW from wind power and the remaining 300MW from solar power.

In addition to the Calatrava 2 project, Verbund Green Power currently has 70MW of renewable energy projects under construction and a portfolio of plants in advanced development stages, showcasing its commitment to further expand its sustainable energy portfolio in Spain.
