Verbund Green Power Iberia Expands Renewable Portfolio with Ayamonte Wind Farm Commissioning

, the Spanish subsidiary of Austria's main utility, has successfully commissioned the Ayamonte wind farm situated in the province of Huelva. The 34.8MW project, featuring six turbines supplied by General , is poised to generate approximately 78,400MWh of clean energy annually.

With the addition of Ayamonte, Verbund Green Power Iberia's operational renewable energy capacity in reaches 630MW. This comprises approximately 380MW from wind power and an additional 250MW from solar projects. The company also has 95MW under construction, along with an extensive portfolio of renewable energy plants in advanced development stages.

Ayamonte marks the second wind farm commissioned by Verbund this year, following the energization of the 39MW Loma de los Pinos scheme in July. The company further solidified its commitment to the Spanish wind market with the acquisition of a 257MW wind asset portfolio from EDPR in the same month.

Since entering the Spanish market in 2021, Verbund Green Power Iberia has strengthened its position in the Iberian Peninsula as an electric power generation company.
