Vestas to Construct 192 MW Wind Farm in Romania for Rezolv Energy-Low Carbon JV

Danish wind turbine manufacturer has been selected by and to build and equip a 192-MW wind farm in southeastern . The project, known as Vifor, marks the first phase of a larger 461-MW initiative in the Balkan country.

According to the developers, Vestas will undertake a full engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) role for the wind farm. This includes supplying and commissioning 30 units of its V162-6.2 MW turbines configured in a 6.4-MW operating mode. In addition to turbine delivery, Vestas will manage civil and electrical works and provide ongoing maintenance under a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement.

Located in Buzau County, northeast of Bucharest, Vifor will be implemented in two phases. Vestas plans to deliver turbines for Phase One by early 2025, with the facility expected to commence operations by the year's end.

Phase One of the Vifor project received authorization from the Romanian Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE) in May. Last month, it secured EUR 291 million (USD 312.3 million) in debt financing from a consortium of eight banks. The 192-MW capacity has already secured five commercial power purchase agreements (PPAs).
