AFRY to Provide Engineering Services for 45 MW Solar Projects in Chile

Swedish energy and infrastructure consultancy AFRY disclosed its collaboration with UK-based renewables firm PowerTree, securing a contract to deliver detailed engineering services for the implementation of 45 megawatts (MW) of new power capacity alongside associated electrical interconnection in .

Under this agreement, AFRY, renowned in the Nordic region, will oversee a portfolio encompassing 15 distinct solar (PV) projects, each boasting a capacity of 3 MW. These projects span across Chile, ranging from the northern to the southern regions of the country, as confirmed in a press release.

PowerTree, headquartered in London, operates as an independent power producer (IPP) within the renewables sector, specializing in the development, construction, and of solar plants, primarily in South America.

According to information on its website, the company maintains a robust pipeline of projects totaling 1.2 gigawatts (GW) under development, with approximately 30% of its initiatives primed to commence the construction phase.

The collaboration between AFRY and PowerTree marks a significant step towards the expansion of infrastructure in Chile, contributing to the nation's commitment to sustainable energy production and further solidifying PowerTree's position as a key player in the South American renewable energy market.
