Vestas Secures 124MW Wind Energy Order in Lithuania

Danish wind turbine manufacturer has announced a significant order for a wind energy project in , . The order, totaling 124 megawatts (MW), was placed by and Latvenergo AS, marking a collaboration aimed at advancing renewable energy efforts in the Baltic region.

Under the terms of the agreement, Vestas will supply 20 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines for the project, handling all aspects from delivery to commissioning.

Additionally, Vestas will provide ongoing maintenance and support through its Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, ensuring optimal performance of the turbines throughout their operational lifespan.

Jens Pinderup, Vice President of Sales for Eastern Europe at Vestas, expressed pride in the partnership and highlighted the company's commitment to supporting energy independence in the Baltic states. Pinderup stated, “We are proud to work on our third project with Utilitas Wind across the three Baltic states and we now look forward to the installation phase and to execute on our long-term service commitment.”

The project signifies a significant step towards sustainable energy goals in the region, with Vestas' EnVentus platform enabling cost-effective and efficient wind power solutions. Turbine delivery and commissioning are scheduled for early 2026, marking a milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance renewable energy in Lithuania and the broader Baltic region.
