Norwegian state-owned power company Statkraft AS has finalized the acquisition of a project portfolio in Croatia from French renewables firm Neoen SA ollowing the receipt of all necessary regulatory approvals.
The portfolio, as confirmed by Statkraft Croatia on Thursday, encompasses early-stage projects spanning wind, solar, and battery energy storage technologies. However, financial and other transaction details remain undisclosed. As part of the acquisition, three developers from Neoen have joined Statkraft's team in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
Commenting on the acquisition, Arnaud Bellanger, Statkraft's director for Croatia and France, stated, “Although this acquisition is smaller in scale, it fits well with our current position in the market.”
Statkraft initiated its operations in Croatia in 2021, signaling its commitment to the country's renewable energy sector.
