solar company A/S has initiated the construction of the 92-megawatt peak (MWp) Hultsfred solar park in Sweden, marking its second and largest project in the country to date.

Scheduled for grid connection by the end of 2025, the solar power plant is anticipated to generate 100 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually.

The project will be integrated into the grid via a newly established large transformer substation located nearby, which E.ON Sweden commenced construction on with the assistance of Nordic Solar at the close of April. This substation is set to facilitate the connection of several solar park projects totaling nearly 200 MWp, constituting the largest integration of solar parks into Sweden's electricity grid to date.

Nordic Solar, concurrently overseeing the construction of the 22MWp Lindesberg solar park in Sweden, now boasts a combined 114 MWp under construction in the country. This accounts for a portion of its Swedish development portfolio exceeding 600 MWp, comprising both proprietary project development and collaborations with Swedish solar developer AB, including Lindesberg and Hultsfred.

Nikolaj Holtet Hoff, CEO of Nordic Solar, emphasized the significance of the Hultsfred project, stating, “Sweden is one of our neighboring countries and an important country for us to invest in.” He further highlighted the role of sunlit regions in promoting solar energy adoption across the Nordic countries.

Nordic Solar currently operates nearly 500 MWp of solar parks in , with an additional close to 2.3 gigawatts peak (GWp) under development and construction, further solidifying its commitment to advancing renewable energy on the continent.
