Nordic Solar Expands Swedish Portfolio with Acquisition of 40MW Solar Park Project

has taken a significant step in its renewable energy endeavors with the acquisition of a 40MW ready-to-build park project from Swedish renewable energy developer Helios Nordic Energy AB. This marks a milestone as the first large-scale scheme on the Swedish island of Gotland.

The project, part of the ambitious 270MW to be developed in collaboration with Helios Nordic Energy AB, underscores Nordic Solar's commitment to advancing solar energy in . With this latest acquisition, 150MW of the pipeline is now either ready-to-build or already under construction, signaling substantial progress in the region's renewable energy landscape.

Situated over 60 hectares south of Visby, the Gotland scheme holds significant promise, benefiting from optimal solar irradiation conditions in one of Sweden's prime locations. Nordic Solar's acquisition includes all necessary permits and a grid connection agreement with GEAB, the grid owner, ensuring streamlined development and integration into the existing infrastructure.

Nikolaj Holtet Hoff, CEO of Nordic Solar, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with Helios Nordic Energy AB, emphasizing the shared vision of accelerating renewable energy production in Sweden. “We are very pleased to continue our cooperation with Helios Nordic Energy on this new project,” stated Hoff. “Together we can help boost the production of renewable energy in Sweden. Adding this new project to our portfolio is part of our focus on accelerating the production of solar energy from large-scale solar parks in the region.”
