Scan Global Logistics Signs PPA with Better Energy for Swedish Solar Power

has inked a (PPA) with Better Energy, marking a substantial step in their commitment to green energy sourcing. The agreement entails Scan Global Logistics contributing to the establishment of a new solar park near Studsvik, Sweden, while securing for its offices and warehouses across the country.

Martin Andersen, Global Head of Sustainability & ESG at Scan Global Logistics, emphasized the strategic importance of the PPA, stating: “This PPA with Better Energy to source renewable energy for our facilities in Sweden is an important part of our sustainability strategy and allows us to contribute to the green transition.”

The collaboration extends Scan Global Logistics' partnership with Better Energy, with Andersen expressing satisfaction in broadening their engagement, citing, “We're pleased to extend our partnership into Sweden as this will be the second Better Energy solar park from which we're offtaking renewable energy from.”

The PPA solidifies plans for a new 23-hectare solar park near Studsvik, with an anticipated annual production capacity of 25GWh of renewable energy. This output is poised to sufficiently power over 4,000 Swedish households, further bolstering the nation's renewable energy profile. Scheduled for grid connection by late 2024, the solar park is poised to become one of Sweden's largest upon completion.

Mikkel Thorup, Senior Director of PPAs at Better Energy, hailed the expansion of their partnership, remarking: “It is great to see that our partnership with Scan Global Logistics in has resulted in welcoming them as a PPA partner in Sweden.”

Thorup stressed the necessity for companies to embrace renewable energy solutions, regardless of scale or energy demands, stating, “The green transition requires companies of all sizes and varying energy requirements to decide to purchase the greenest form of .”
