Allseas has landed a significant contract for the transport and installation of two offshore substations for Skyborn's Gennaker offshore wind farm, set to be located in the German Baltic Sea.
The contract, awarded by the Dutch-Belgian HSI consortium – HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders, and Iv – encompasses the Gennaker West (OSS-DarB) and East (OSS-Zingst) converter platforms, along with the supporting suction buckets jackets.
Under the purview of the HSI Joint Venture, responsible for delivering the platforms for grid operator 50Hertz, Allseas will employ its heavy lift vessel Pioneering Spirit for the project. Leveraging the vessel's unparalleled transport and lift capability, Allseas aims to execute the installation of the suction buckets jackets and the 61-meter-long, 34-meter-wide topsides in a single offshore campaign.
By condensing operations offshore, this approach enhances safety and efficiency, making installations both safer and faster, according to the company.
