JA Solar Successfully Completes the Shipment of All n-type Modules for the ACWA Power Solar Project in Tashkent, Uzbekistan

On December 22nd, JA announced the successful completion of the shipment of n-type modules for the 240 MW solar project in Tashkent, . The final phase of the delivery, marked by the arrival of a freight train carrying the modules, demonstrates the collaborative efforts between the two entities.

The solar project agreement was forged between ACWA Power and Uzbekistan's Joint-Stock Company (JSC) National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan (NEGU) in coordination with the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade. The contracting and construction responsibilities for the project were undertaken by Energy Engineering Corporation Limited, with providing all 240 MW PV modules.

This milestone reflects the positive strides in cooperation between ACWA Power and JA Solar, highlighting the global recognition of JA Solar's n-type modules. ACWA Power, a significant player in power generation development, has maintained enduring partnerships with JA Solar. In a meeting at JA Solar's Beijing Headquarters in April 2022, executives from both companies expressed their commitment to furthering their collaboration.

Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar, expressed enthusiasm about contributing to the development of the PV market in Uzbekistan. JA Solar's past involvement in the 100 MW Nur Navoi solar project, the country's inaugural utility-scale solar plant three years ago, underscores the company's commitment to supporting Uzbekistan's green economy objectives. Looking ahead, JA Solar aims to introduce advanced PV technologies and products to the local market, aligning with Uzbekistan's ambitions to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
