ACWA Power Expands Operational Capacity to 1.125 GW with Sudair Solar PV Group 2

, the Saudi-based global utility company, has announced the successful attainment of the Commercial Operation certificate for Group 2 of the Sudair Independent Power Plant (IPP) project in Sudair Industrial City. With the commencement of Group 2, representing a 25% capacity increase over Group 1, the Sudair solar facility now boasts a combined operational capacity of 1,125 megawatts.

The Sudair Solar PV IPP project, with a total investment of $906.5 million, reached commercial close in the third quarter of 2021. ACWA Power holds a significant 35% stake in Sudair One Company, the entity overseeing the project.

This milestone achievement aligns with Saudi Arabia's National Renewable Energy Programme and is part of the Public Investment Fund's broader renewable energy initiative. The Sudair solar project is a significant contributor to the country's clean energy goals.

ACWA Power, renowned for its global leadership in renewable energy and green , has used the occasion of the Future Investment Initiative (FII7) in Riyadh to seal substantial agreements totaling $746 million.
