UK and Luminous Energy have unveiled updated plans for the Springwell farm in North Kesteven, Lincolnshire. The modifications, revealed after the first stage of public consultation, incorporate further offsets from homes and villages, proposing new planting initiatives, and a reduced overall size of the area designated for solar panels.

The solar farm, featuring storage, is strategically located between Lincoln and Sleaford. The updated proposals aim to address concerns raised by the local community during the initial consultation. The public is now invited to provide feedback on these revised plans in the second stage of consultation, which will run for six weeks starting from January 11, 2024. All feedback is requested to be submitted by 11.59pm on February 22, 2024.

Previous input from community members and stakeholders, along with the results of early environmental assessments and technical evaluations, played a crucial role in shaping the updated proposals. The collaborative effort seeks to strike a balance between development and local considerations.

Matthew Boulton, Director of Storage, Solar, and Private Wire at , expressed gratitude to those who participated in the earlier consultation and emphasized the ongoing importance of community feedback in refining the Springwell project. The input gathered during this consultation phase will contribute to further refinement of the proposals before the formal submission of the application to the Planning Inspectorate.
