Royal Boskalis has secured a contract in consortium with TKF Subsea Solutions to supply and install the inter-array cable system for the 977MW Gennaker offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea, the company said.
The agreement was awarded by developer Skyborn and covers delivery of the full cable network linking the project’s planned 63 wind turbines.
Royal Boskalis B.V. said the cables will be manufactured in the Netherlands by TKF Subsea Solutions, with installation scheduled to start from the end of 2027 using its cable-laying vessel BOKA Ocean. The contract value was described as “sizable”.
With a planned capacity of 976.5MW, Gennaker is expected to become the largest offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea and supply roughly one million households with renewable electricity. Commissioning is targeted for 2028.
Boskalis is already involved in the project through its subsidiary Heinrich Hirdes EOD Services GmbH, which is conducting unexploded ordnance identification and clearance works within the wind farm area using the dedicated UXO vessel Kamara.
