Innagreen Investments has acquired the consented Dunbeg South wind farm near Limavady in Northern Ireland, marking the company’s first renewable energy investment in the UK, the company said.
The project, developed by renewable energy firm RES, will comprise nine turbines with a maximum tip height of 149.9 metres and is expected to have an installed capacity of around 38.7 megawatts.
Innagreen said RES will continue to oversee development and construction of the wind farm and will later provide technical services once the project becomes operational.
“This acquisition represents a significant milestone for Innagreen as we expand into the UK market, with further acquisitions expected through 2026,” Olly Alexander, chief executive of Innagreen Investments, said in a statement.
“Dunbeg South offers strong fundamentals and aligns perfectly with our strategy to invest in high-quality renewable energy projects,” he added.
RES said the deal builds on an existing relationship between the two companies, which have previously collaborated on wind projects in Canada, including the 200MW Bekevar and 100MW Hilda wind farms.
“We’re delighted to partner with Innagreen on Dunbeg South,” Lucy Whitford, managing director for the UK and Ireland at RES, said.
RES added that it has been active in Northern Ireland since the early 1990s and has developed or constructed 30 onshore wind farms in the region, with a combined capacity of more than 525 MW.
