Norwind Offshore said it has taken delivery of the service operation vessel (SOV) Norwind Maestro from Vard Søviknes, expanding its managed fleet to six vessels as demand for offshore wind support services grows.
The handover was completed at 11:10 and marks another step in the company’s strategy to support long-term offshore wind farm operations, Norwind Offshore said in a statement.
Following delivery, Norwind Maestro will commence a 10-year contract at the Global Tech 1 offshore wind farm, where it will support ongoing operations and maintenance activities. The deployment will also strengthen Norwind Offshore’s partnership with Wind Multiplikator GmbH, powered by Semco Maritime, the company added.
“The handover of Norwind Maestro marks a further milestone in our support for offshore wind farm operations,” Norwind Offshore said, noting the vessel’s role in long-term service agreements.
Norwind Offshore congratulated the teams at Vard Søviknes and its project partners on the successful delivery, saying the vessel would play a key role in supporting safe and efficient offshore wind operations.
