Vestas said it has secured four new onshore wind turbine orders totalling 289 megawatts in southern Europe, led by a 125-MW contract for projects developed by Italian renewable energy company ERG.
The Italian order covers the Carlentini and Greci-Montaguto wind farms and includes 18 V163-4.5MW turbines, six V136-4.5MW units and four V117-4.2MW machines, Vestas said. Turbine delivery and commissioning are expected to be completed by 2026 under a long-term AOM 5000 service agreement.
In Spain, Vestas said Capital Energy has placed an 88-MW order for the El Castillar and Joluga projects. The order comprises four V162-6.2MW turbines, nine V163-4.5MW units and five V150-4.5MW turbines. The Spanish projects will be supported by a 20-year AOM 4000 service agreement, with commissioning scheduled for the first and second quarters of 2027.
The Danish turbine maker also announced two orders in Portugal. Saeta has contracted 45 MW for the Penamarcor project, which will be equipped with 10 V163-4.5MW turbines. The project will be covered by a long-term AOM 5000 service agreement, with commissioning expected by the end of 2026.
A second Portuguese order will see Hyperion install seven V163-4.5MW turbines, totalling 32 MW, at the Nortada wind farm. Vestas said the project will be backed by a 20-year AOM 4000 service agreement, with turbine delivery and commissioning both planned for the first half of 2027.
Vestas said the new contracts reflect continued demand for onshore wind capacity across southern Europe, supported by long-term service agreements designed to optimise asset performance.
