Vestas said it has secured 188 megawatts of wind turbine orders for three projects in Ireland as part of its fourth-quarter intake, adding to its onshore wind backlog in the country.
Invis Energy has ordered seven V150-6.0 MW turbines for the Knocknamork wind farm in County Cork. Delivery of the turbines is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with commissioning planned for the second quarter of 2027, Vestas said.
The Danish turbine maker also disclosed two additional orders from undisclosed clients. One order covers 11 V117-4.3 MW turbines destined for Ireland, though the company did not provide a delivery timeline.
A further order comprises 22 V136-4.5 MW turbines, with deliveries set to start in the first quarter of 2027. Commissioning of the 99-MW project is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2027, according to the company.
Vestas said the combined orders were secured “as part of the company’s fourth quarter intake,” reflecting continued demand for onshore wind capacity in the Irish market.
