Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) has announced a partnership with Alterra for its Growth Markets Fund II, the company said, describing the fund as one of the world’s largest greenfield-focused renewable energy investment vehicles.
The fund is targeting regions with rapidly rising energy demand, including markets in Asia, Latin America and Africa, CIP said. The partnership is intended to accelerate access to reliable and affordable energy while supporting the transition to low-carbon power systems.
“We are very proud of this commitment to our Growth Market Fund II, which marks the start of a partnership with Alterra, one of the world’s leading climate investors,” said Torsten Lodberg Smed, senior partner at CIP.
Smed added that the collaboration will allow both companies “to work towards a common goal of providing clean, affordable, and secure energy to rapidly growing economies… where demand is accelerating.”
CIP said the partnership reflects its strategy of investing in renewable infrastructure to support resilient and sustainable energy systems in emerging markets.
