TotalEnergies has signed a 10-year agreement to supply 610 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable electricity to Data4’s data centre operations in Spain, starting in January 2026, the French energy company said on Tuesday.
The contract, structured under TotalEnergies’ Clean Firm Power model, will draw on 30 megawatts (MW) of Spanish wind and solar generation capacity that is due to come online in the near future.
Sophie Chevalier, senior vice president for flexible power and integration at TotalEnergies, said the deal demonstrates the company’s ability to deliver competitive power solutions tailored to large industrial clients. “We are delighted with this contract with Data4, which illustrates our ability to offer competitive power supply solutions adapted to large industrial groups,” she said.
Chevalier added: “Our Clean Firm Power solutions are specifically designed to meet our customers’ requirements in terms of cost, consumption profile and environmental commitment.”
François Sterin, chief operating officer at Data4, said the partnership reinforces the company’s commitment to renewable energy amid rising data demand and AI-driven growth. “This agreement confirms Data4’s commitment to renewable energy, which is all the more strategic at a time when the race for AI is on,” he said.
“By partnering with TotalEnergies, we are ensuring our customers a competitive, stable and long-term supply of carbon-free electricity, in infrastructures designed as models of sustainability and innovation,” Sterin added.
