OX2 has begun construction of the 96-megawatt Ansthall wind farm in Galați County, Romania, marking the latest addition to the country’s growing renewable energy pipeline.
The project will consist of 15 Vestas turbines and is expected to generate about 309 gigawatt hours of electricity annually, the company said. According to OX2, Ansthall will supply enough power for roughly 89,000 homes and cut around 99,000 tonnes of CO₂ each year.
The wind farm was divested in August 2025 to Helleniq Renewables and is supported by a 12-year power purchase agreement with Ahold Delhaize.
“This project shows how fast Romania’s renewable momentum is accelerating and OX2 is proud to help drive it,” said Lacramioara Diaconu-Pintea, vice-president and country manager for OX2 Romania.
OX2 said it now has two projects under construction and a 1.1-gigawatt portfolio, representing about one-third of all wind projects currently under way in Romania.
