Océanide Joins France Energies Marines to Strengthen Offshore Research Collaboration

Océanide, a wave physical model testing facility, has officially become a member of the research institute . With three decades of experience, Océanide specializes in conducting physical modeling of intricate offshore phenomena, along with prototyping and executing large-scale test campaigns across various sectors, including and oil and gas projects.

The collaboration is poised to significantly contribute to the development of high-power and floating wind farms, addressing the technological challenges associated with floating offshore wind turbines. Océanide's expertise is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the understanding of long-term viability issues related to high-power wind farms, as well as considering the impact of climate change and associated extreme phenomena.

Ludovic Noblet, Development and Valorization Director of Energies Marines, expressed optimism about the collaboration, stating, “Given the technological challenges associated with floating offshore wind turbines and the problems of long-term viability in relation to high-power wind farms, as well as the impact of climate change and associated extreme phenomena, the fact that Océanide is joining France Energies Marines as a member is excellent news for the industry.”
