Offshore contractor Seaway7 has completed the installation of all 87 monopiles at the Dogger Bank C wind farm, the final phase of the 3.6-gigawatt (GW) Dogger Bank offshore wind project in the North Sea, the company said on Thursday.
The milestone marks the end of monopile installation across all three phases—Dogger Bank A, B, and C—totalling 277 foundations for what will become the world’s largest offshore wind complex once fully operational.
“Our teams have delivered strong predictable performance, enabling efficient cycle times while maintaining safety and quality throughout the offshore campaigns,” Seaway7 said in a statement.
The heavy lift vessel Seaway Strashnov has been operating at the Dogger Bank C site since April. Seaway7’s installation vessel Alfa Lift will remain on site to complete the installation of approximately 30 remaining transition pieces later this year, concluding the foundation works.
Dogger Bank is being developed by SSE Renewables, Equinor, and Vargronn off the northeast coast of England. The full project is expected to supply renewable electricity to six million UK homes annually once completed.
