Danish energy group Orsted is considering the sale of a portfolio of onshore wind assets in Europe, with the transaction potentially valued at up to €2 billion, according to a report from industry outlet PeakLoad.
The portfolio, referred to as “Project Grace,” includes approximately 800 megawatts (MW) of wind capacity, with a significant portion located in Ireland, as well as assets in Germany and Spain. In total, 27 projects are said to be included in the proposed divestment.
PeakLoad also reported that French investment bank BNP Paribas is advising Orsted on the potential sale, and that non-binding offers are expected to be submitted by prospective buyers next month.
Orsted declined to comment on the report when contacted by PeakLoad.
“The portfolio comprises 800MW of operational and development assets across Ireland, Germany and Spain,” the publication noted, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.
The reported move comes as European energy companies continue to rebalance portfolios and raise capital amid evolving market dynamics and investment strategies.
