Gonvarri Solar Steel has signed an agreement with Spanish energy firm Solarig to supply solar trackers and fixed-tilt structures for a group of photovoltaic projects in Italy with a total capacity of 130 megawatts (MW), the companies said.
Under the deal, Solar Steel will provide more than 5,300 solar trackers and 530 fixed structures for a cluster of three solar projects. The equipment will support over 209,000 high-power modules, aiming to optimize energy capture across uneven terrain.
“The systems are adapted to the specific conditions of the land, maximizing both energy generation and tracking performance,” a Solar Steel representative said in a statement.
Construction on the mixed-technology sites, which will incorporate both tracking and fixed systems, is expected to begin in the coming months. The projects are slated for commissioning in late 2025, with full operations scheduled to start in early 2026.
The deal marks Solar Steel’s 15th year in the Italian market. The company, part of Gonvarri Industries, began operating in the country in 2010.
Solarig, headquartered in Spain, currently oversees more than 10 gigawatts (GW) of operational photovoltaic assets and maintains a project pipeline exceeding 20 GW across 12 countries.
