Apple Partners with Ib Vogt for Solar Power Project in Spain

Renewables developer has entered into a (PPA) with to supply power from a project in Segovia, . The Castano solar plant, with a capacity of 134MW, is part of a series of projects Ib Vogt is constructing in the province, all under pay-as-produced fixed price PPAs.

The Castano solar plant is expected to be fully operational by December 2024. Ib Vogt is providing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for the project and will handle operations and maintenance (O&M) upon completion. The company is also implementing conservation initiatives to align with environmental protection efforts, including reforestation, installation of nesting boxes for native birds, and creating a protected habitat.

The project will utilize state-of-the-art bifacial solar panels on a single-axis tracker system to maximize energy production. Ib Vogt CEO Anton Milner expressed enthusiasm about the project, highlighting Spain's emergence as a major market for solar PV.

“This PPA is a perfect example, and I would like to thank all involved parties who helped make this a success and especially Apple, who are partnering with us on this project,” said Milner. Ib Vogt has a growing portfolio in Spain and aims to pursue more opportunities for corporate PPAs through its turnkey solar projects.

Ib Vogt has a strong track record, having built and is constructing over 4.3GW of PV power plants globally, with a project pipeline exceeding 45GW.
