Enercity Erneuerbare and Enercon have entered a strategic partnership for the delivery, installation, and maintenance of approximately 100 onshore wind turbines across Germany. The agreement, valued at up to €800 million, spans an initial two-year term with the option for extension, the companies announced.
The collaboration, both firms noted, was formed following a competitive tender process initiated by Enercity Erneuerbare, a renewable energy subsidiary of German utility Enercity. Both companies are headquartered in Lower Saxony.
In addition to turbine supply and servicing, the contract includes options for infrastructure development and substation construction to support the wind projects.
“Ambitious growth and expansion targets can be realised even more efficiently with strong partners,” said Ralf Nietiet and Daniel Müller, managing directors at Enercity Erneuerbare. “With Enercon, we ensure reliable access to high-quality technology within a contractually defined timeframe.”
The first phase of the agreement will see the deployment of over 30 turbines this year.
Enercon’s regional head for central and northern Europe, Benjamin Seifert, pointed to a changing market landscape: “The transfer of building permits to project implementation is increasing,” he said. “Successful projects depend on early and agile cooperation. The drafting of this agreement and the first implementation steps have shown a very constructive relationship between our companies.”
Aurélie Alemany, CEO of Enercity, emphasized the broader impact of the deal: “Our partnership is a positive signal for the German wind industry and the regional economy,” she said. “Wind energy creates added value—especially at our company, production and wind sites.”
The companies described the agreement as a step toward strengthening Germany’s renewable energy infrastructure and supporting national climate goals.
