EnBW Selects Lautec Platform to Track Offshore Wind Vessel Operations

German utility EnBW has signed a contract with Danish software company Lautec to implement a digital system for monitoring crew transfer vessel (CTV) activity at its operational offshore wind farms, the companies said on Thursday.

The agreement covers deployment of Lautec’s Daily Progress Reporting (DPR), WindGIS, and Analytics modules, aimed at improving real-time visibility of vessel movements and offshore logistics. The cloud-based tools will provide EnBW with enhanced situational awareness and operational insights using live data feeds.

“We’re proud to be collaborating with EnBW to implement our SaaS platform system for CTV tracking,” said Henrik Iversen, managing partner and head of IT at Lautec. “The system is a true SaaS solution—subscription-based with no up-front investment.”

Lautec’s DPR platform allows vessel crews to input high-quality data with minimal effort, the company said, helping wind farm operators streamline reporting and performance evaluations.

“Our DPR tracking interface is engineered to make it very easy for the vessel crew to record high-quality, complete data,” Iversen added.

Originally designed for offshore wind construction projects, Lautec’s system is now widely adopted across the sector, supporting more than 70% of global offshore wind capacity under construction outside China. Its modular architecture and frequent updates have also enabled expansion into onshore and operational phases of wind farm development.

“We’re really looking forward to working closely with EnBW to make sure the system is configured, implemented and supported to deliver exactly what their teams need,” Iversen said.

The collaboration reflects growing industry interest in digital tools to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase transparency in offshore wind operations.
