SeaRenergy Offshore Holding GmbH has entered into a strategic partnership with Swiss-based Tethys Robotics to enhance subsea inspection services in offshore energy sectors, the companies said in a joint statement.
As part of the agreement, SeaRenergy will integrate the Tethys ONE robotic inspection system into its offshore operations. The system, developed by Tethys Robotics, is designed to support automated underwater inspections with increased flexibility and efficiency.
According to SeaRenergy, the Tethys ONE is equipped with advanced navigation technologies and both acoustic and contact-based sensors, enabling it to operate effectively even in challenging underwater environments. The robot’s compact design and rapid deployment capabilities are expected to contribute to more agile and cost-effective inspection campaigns.
“Integrating the Tethys ONE into our operations aligns with our commitment to leveraging innovative technologies to provide superior services to our clients,” said SeaRenergy CEO Benjamin Vordemfelde. “We believe this partnership will set new standards in subsea inspection efficiency and reliability.”
Tethys Robotics CEO Jonas Wüst added, “We are excited to welcome SeaRenergy as an official partner. Their extensive offshore footprint and technical expertise make them the perfect collaborator to demonstrate the full potential of the Tethys ONE system in offshore inspection campaigns.”
The companies plan to begin joint operations with pilot projects in the North Sea and Baltic Sea, focusing on subsea inspections of wind farm structures and underwater cables.
SeaRenergy provides a range of engineering, offshore marine, and inspection services for the renewable and conventional energy industries, while Tethys Robotics specializes in the development of robotic systems for underwater applications.
