Independent power producer BNZ has officially launched three power plants in Lazio, Italy, with a combined capacity of 135MW. The total investment for the projects amounts to €150 million.

The electricity generated by these solar farms is expected to meet nearly 60% of the annual electricity consumption of the municipalities of Montalto di Castro and Viterbo. The inauguration event, held in the province of Viterbo, brought together various stakeholders, including local authorities, business partners, and collaborators.

This milestone marks a significant step for BNZ in expanding its presence in Italy, one of its key markets. The company has set plans to invest €600 million and create approximately 800 jobs by the end of this decade.

Luis Selva, CEO of BNZ, commented, “The inauguration of our three plants in Lazio is part of our broader journey in Italy, which includes new projects under development and exploring opportunities with innovative technologies.”

He further stated, “We are targeting 520 MW of new installed capacity by 2026 through a total of nine photovoltaic plants, also located in Sicily and Apulia. The renewable energy sector in Italy has great potential thanks to its natural resources and technological expertise. Our goal is to become one of the largest solar IPPs in Italy, bringing social and environmental value to the region.
