Iberdrola France has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with AGRATI Group, a manufacturer specializing in fastening systems and mechanical components. Under the agreement, AGRATI will purchase all electricity generated by the Florembeau wind farm, located in Créquy, Pas-de-Calais, starting in 2025.
The Florembeau wind farm consists of five turbines with a combined capacity of 10.25MW and is expected to produce an annual output of 21 GWh. This renewable electricity will be used to supply AGRATI's three production sites in Fourmies, Vieux Conde (Nord Pas-de-Calais), and Avressieux (Savoie), where the company manufactures its products. AGRATI's industrial operations, which employ approximately 570 people, consume 38 GWh of electricity annually across an 84,000 m² area.
The energy from the Florembeau wind farm is expected to meet 53% of AGRATI's electricity needs at these sites. Starting in 2025, the shift to renewable energy will reduce AGRATI's CO2 emissions in France by 33% annually, equating to a reduction of around 2,200 tons of CO2 per year.
Lorenzo Zaniboni, Europe Chief Operating Officer at AGRATI, highlighted the importance of the agreement in the company's sustainability efforts: “This agreement marks an important milestone in Agrati's sustainability journey. By powering our French production sites with renewable energy, we are not only reducing CO2 emissions by 2,200 tons annually but also aligning our operations with our long-term commitment to environmental responsibility.”
Zaniboni further emphasized the company's commitment to green energy: “At Agrati, we believe that investing in green energy and innovative solutions is essential to building a resilient and sustainable future for our industry.
