VH Global Energy Infrastructure has successfully launched two new solar power sites in Brazil, increasing its total operational capacity to 12 solar projects in the country. The company emphasized that these new additions would contribute to Brazil's economic development, grid enhancements, and its ongoing efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
The 12 solar distributed generation projects now in operation have a combined capacity of 34.3MWdc, and VH Global Energy Infrastructure expects this figure to grow further in 2025. A third solar site is set to be energised later in the first quarter of this year, adding 6.25MWdc of new capacity, and three additional projects are anticipated to begin operations during the year.
The two newly energised solar assets are already generating revenue, thanks to long-term offtake agreements ranging from 10 to 20 years. The larger of the two, with a capacity of 5.7MWdc, has secured a 20-year inflation-linked contract with Telefonica, highlighting the growing interest in renewable energy partnerships in the region.
These new projects further support VH Global Energy Infrastructure's commitment to expanding its renewable energy footprint in Brazil and driving progress towards the country's decarbonisation goals.
