Avery Dennison Signs 10-Year Power Purchase Agreement for Renewable Energy with Zelestra

Avery Dennison has entered into a 10-year (PPA) with Spanish renewable energy provider Zelestra, securing renewable from its 44MW plant in Seville. The agreement will provide Avery Dennison with 90 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of renewable energy annually, enough to power approximately 25,000 Spanish households.

The energy produced by Zelestra's Las Rozas solar plant is expected to help prevent the emission of roughly 16,290 tons of CO2 each year, contributing to the company's decarbonization efforts.

Ivan Nieto, Chief Commercial Officer of Zelestra, described the partnership as an example of the company's ability to tailor energy solutions to its customers' sustainability goals. “The vPPA with Avery Dennison is a clear example of how Zelestra creates customised energy solutions to support our customers' decarbonisation efforts,” Nieto said. “We are proud to partner with Avery Dennison by delivering clean, sustainable energy that allows them to make progress on their sustainability and emissions reduction objectives.

Avery Dennison's Head of Enterprise Sustainability, Michael Colarossi, emphasized the importance of sustainable energy for the company's broader environmental goals. “Accessing sustainable energy sources is foundational to our company's overall commitment to reducing scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions,” Colarossi said. “We are partnering with Zelestra to make sustainable energy sources more widely available across the energy grid.

Zelestra currently operates 11 renewable energy plants in , with a total installed capacity of 428 MWdc, and is expanding its portfolio with projects that exceed 5GW. The partnership with Avery Dennison reflects the growing trend of corporate commitments to renewable energy as part of global sustainability efforts.
