The Group has received orders for 97 wind turbines in Turkey during the fourth quarter of 2024, marking a significant milestone for the company. These orders, which total 638MW, also include service contracts for the turbines over several years.

Most of the orders were placed in late December, contributing to Nordex reaching more than 1GW of new orders in Turkey for the year. The orders are in line with Turkey's ambitious energy goals, which include quadrupling the expansion of wind and solar energy to a total of 120,000 MW by 2035.

The country's drive to expand comes in response to increasing consumption, as well as a strategic push to replace fossil fuels with electricity in the coming years.

Nordex's turbine portfolio, which includes onshore models in the 4 to 6 MW+ class, is designed to meet the needs of countries like Turkey, where space availability is limited and grid capacity is constrained. The company's turbines are tailored to optimize energy generation in these challenging environments.

“With these new orders, we continue to strengthen our position in Turkey, a market with significant growth potential as the country works toward its renewable energy targets,” a spokesperson for Nordex said.

Nordex's expansion in Turkey is part of its broader strategy to capitalize on the growing demand for renewable energy in key international markets.
