The CIP-Avangrid joint venture Vineyard Wind has successfully completed the installation of 62 monopiles at its 804-megawatt Vineyard Wind 1 offshore wind project off the coast of Massachusetts. The completion of this key milestone was confirmed by an announcement on Vineyard Wind's website.
Raphael Leyman, project engineer at DEME Group, celebrated the achievement, stating that the work was finished earlier this week. Following the completion of monopile installation, Vineyard Wind has now moved on to the next phase of the project, with cable laying operations set to begin this week and continue through April 2025.
The Cable Laying Vessel Connector will be responsible for laying inter-array cables, while the trenching vessel Symphony will carry out cable trenching and burial work to complete the subsea infrastructure for the project.
