LONDON (Reuters) – DRI, the European renewables arm of Ukrainian energy company DTEK, has announced the appointment of Ivan Geliukh as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding John Stuart who led the company for nearly three years.
Geliukh, previously the CEO of DTEK's pan-European trading division, D.Trading, will take the helm at DRI during a period of significant growth. Stuart, who has overseen the company's expansion into core markets including Croatia, Italy, Poland, and Romania, leaves behind a renewable energy and battery storage portfolio of 1.4 gigawatts (GW) and a workforce of nearly 100 international experts. Under his leadership, DRI established itself as a key player in the European energy transition.
“It has been a pleasure transforming DRI from renewables start-up to a well-established power producer and driving its mission to accelerate the energy transition in Europe,” Stuart commented. “Across the EU, countries have ambitious renewable energy targets, and I have no doubt that as DRI expands, it will be a big part of this story.
Geliukh expressed enthusiasm about taking on the role and outlined his vision for the future of DRI. “I am delighted to step into this role at DRI, one of DTEK's fastest growing subsidiaries, with a mission to deliver clean energy and storage across Europe,” he said. “Under John's leadership, DRI has grown into a strong renewables business with an exciting future.
He further emphasized the company's commitment to further growth, aiming to deliver substantial renewable and battery storage capacity across its core markets by 2030, while also exploring new opportunities in Europe.
“I look forward to further growing the business,” Geliukh added, “as we work to deliver significant renewable and battery storage capacity in our core markets by 2030 and begin to explore new markets across Europe.
Stuart offered his support for Geliukh's leadership, saying: “In Ivan, DRI has a great leader with a proven track record of growth at DTEK. I am confident he will lead DRI to the next phase of growth and wish him the very best.
