Germany's Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has granted planning approval for Vattenfall's Nordlicht 1 offshore wind farm, a 1-gigawatt (GW) project set to become the largest in German waters. Located north of Borkum in Germany's exclusive economic zone, Nordlicht 1 will feature 68 Vestas V236-15.0MW turbines, each with a rotor diameter of 236 meters.
