US-based lithium-sulfur batteries developer Lyten has reached an agreement to acquire the former lithium-metal battery (LMB) manufacturing facility in San Leandro, California, previously operated by Swedish battery manufacturer Northvolt’s subsidiary Cuberg. The acquisition follows Northvolt's decision earlier this year to shift its LMB technology development from California to Sweden, leading to nearly 200 job cuts.
